Parent Council

Objective
Our objective is to strengthen the HEAT program by organizing the parent involvement in the program.

Structure
The Council will have 8-10 parent representatives and at least 1 coach representative.  Terms will be structured with staggering 1-year and 2-year commitments.  Ideally, all swim groups (Roosevelt, Red, Green, White, Blue, Silver, Gold, and Senior) will be represented at all times.  Council members will be chosen by the coaching staff at their discretion.

There will be an Executive Committee comprised of the Head Coach, President, Treasurer, and another Coach to make financial decisions, and be available to address emergency concerns if another Council meeting is not in the near future.

Goals/Activities
Improve communications/planning between coaches/parents/HCER.
Develop a leadership mentality among parents to plan/assist in planning events.
The Council will plan/develop/facilitate issues/events and then delegate activities to parent volunteers.
At the direction of or working in conjunction with the coaches, the Council will disseminate information to HEAT parents.
Meet as needed, most likely once a month and communicate via e-mail as required.
