PRACTICE GROUPS CHANGES

 

 

 

As swimmers build strength and skill they may be moved up to the next group level.

Test sets for all groups will be administered once a month.

This is the ONLY time swimmers will have the chance to advance
. Skills are cumulative, swimmers must display leadership within their current group, and have advanced to the highest lane and training that group can offer.

 

Difference in price between groups must be paid as follows:

September/October-full difference

November/December-75% difference

January/February-50% difference

March/April-25% difference

 

RED/GREEN TO WHITE

Swim 200 Free/Back continuous with flip turns. Kick 50 of Breaststroke/Fly with proper technique Developing proper timing on Breaststroke/Fly Understand basic swimming language (50, 200, IM, etc.)


WHITE TO BLUE

Dive from the starting blocks Execute proper flip turns for all strokes Execute a pull out for Breaststroke breakout 6 x 100 Free on 2:00 Hold 2:30 average on 4 x 100 Kick


BLUE TO BRONZE

Legal in all four strokes Execute flip turns for all strokes and IM exchange Developing endurance and sprint techniques Comfortable with reading the clock and computing send offs Have B time standards in several events Qualify and compete at Silver Championships 8 x 100 Free on 1:50 Hold 2:10 average on 6 x 100 Kick


BRONZE TO SILVER

Higher commitment of practices/meets Understand and develop more advanced stroke techniques Ability to handle endurance and lactate practices Developing advanced racing skills Have A time standards in several events Qualify and compete at Gold Championships 10 x 100 Free on 1:40 Hold 1:55 average on 8 x 100 Kick 8 x 50 IMO on :50


SILVER TO GOLD

Committed to minimum 5 practices a week Advanced stroke technique Experienced racing skills for all events Set short and long term goals for themselves to share with coach Have AA or higher time standards in several events Qualify and compete at Gold Championships 10 x 100 Free on 1:30 10 x 100 Kick on 1:50 8 x 50 IMO on :45
